Other's feedback is definitely important in the usability testing phase before moving forward. Usability testing really helps finding out what problems potential users would encounter before the product is completed. This is great!

Great introduction! To make sure that participants are comfortable saying what they REALLY THINK, I tell them to do just that: - "You're not going to hurt my feelings, so please be as critical as you can".

If you are testing an app, do you usually have them download the app on their own device or allow them to use yours? Also does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about this during social distancing?

What impressed me most in this talk is the realisation (and humility to accept) that his initial thoughts or methods are no longer serving us and to adapt to the current needs UX and how it can benefit the tech industry.

This was really interesting - thanks for uploading (I'm a couple of years late...). I'm a graphic designer and keen to eventually move into VR design. I'm at a cross roads and considering investing in either UI design or motion graphics/3D training. Which route do you think would eventually be better? It was interesting to hear Preston talk about UI designers' reluctance to learn Blendr etc. I'm really keen to do that but not sure if it would be better to learn 3D once I've got a grasp of UI design or learn 3D/motion and try and get into UI?? Any advice would be really appreciated. Have subscribed!! Thanks!

I agree. The setup process is waay too long. Like Fitbit's Aria setup process. It was horrible I didn't even use it for a year!

Neat idea and market! But what if the tenant is just listening to music or TV loud but not too loud? I assume the algorithm handles this. Also I'm sure there would be privacy terms Property Managers have to advise tenants too before they enter your property?

I'm a UXer who also has real estate background. When people are hunting for roommates, would they rather see photos of the space for rent over the FB profile photo? I know photos help drive leases in residential property. I'm admittedly not a millennial - which is the declared target user - but I feel like that profile photo could be a thumbnail over photos of the space.
